Shown is a sample section of a
typical product display board. Note the samples of actual thinwall
conduit connectors and couplings and bar-coded labels for each size
associated with each type. As many as 4000 product labels and a large number of sample products will ultimately be on display in Laner Electric Supply's customer sales counter areas.
Our lovely product marketing
specialist is holding a sample of the hand-held wireless bar-code
scanner / data entry terminal. These comparatively inexpensive units
are rugged, lightweight, about the size of a VHS cassette, and will run for about a week of typical use on 3 "AA" batteries. Current versions have 4 lines by 20 characters of display. Future versions will have 6 lines.

Before being handed a RaFT, the customer's bill-to and ship-to I.D. are identified by a sales representative. All pricing information that appears from this point forward is specific to the customer that is using this particular RaFT. This means that two customers, who are shopping right next to each other and who have scanned the same item, may get completely diffe

rent pricing information on their screens.

The SKU for 12/2 Romex
has been scanned and the price for a single 250 ft. roll is displayed.
The display indicates that quantity discounts are available for this
product. The customer can easily look at the available discounts by pressing a single button on the keyboard. Otherwise the customer can enter a quantity and proceed to the next item.

If desired by the
customer, a single button press will display several levels of
quantity-based price discounts.

From the keyboard, "7"
(rolls of 12/2 Romex) has been entered as the desired quantity. This
is the screen-shot just before pressing the enter key.
